Museums in New York

When I was in New York in March, I visited two museums: The Guggenheim Museum and The New Museum.
Both were fantastic museums, where they both had different tastes and colors to it.
In the Guggenheim, the building was built in a spiral shape where the audiences were allowed to walk up the building in a circular way and as they walked, they were able to look at different arts on the walls. I really liked the Guggenheim because it had a lot of the famous artists' arts, such as Picasso.
I wasn't able to take more pictures of this museum, because cameras were not allowed after the first floor...

Next!
The New Museum! I gotta say.. This one was my favorite. Of course, I was actually looking forward to their modern art exhibition, but when I got there, it was gone, and the new exhibition called The Ungovernables was there.
I was really disappointed at first, until I saw the art pieces. The pieces consisted mostly of political views and propaganda, which I loved! I was actually moved by what the artists were trying to convey. For example, I got to watch one of the clips of an autistic lady speaking on behalf of all the autistic people. She was talking about how in this world, people view autistic people as the abnormal ones, because they did not think and speak like the majority. However, who are we to say certain way is the "right" way?

This really helped me to look at "life" differently in a way that I am in no place to judge or to determine what is right or wrong through my own naked eyes.

Grand Central Station

Grand Central Station in New York is absolutely AMAZING!
I just love the architecture, the ambiance, and the secrets in the Station.
Just knowing that hundreds of movies were filmed in there and for me to be in the same place is just amazing. The latest movie that I watched that filmed in the Grand Central Station was "Friends with Benefits." That movie was just hilarious and very cute, but anyways, I remember just talking about the scenes in the movie to my friends who traveled with me, and literally being in the same spot!

My highlight of visiting the station was their secret that they had in the building. I heard the secret from here, and it's basically about how the station has these arches where when one whispers from one end, the sound would travel across and the person across from the arch would be able to hear the sound from the other end!
It's really cool! you guys should try it when you visit the station!
It's the arches near here

9/11 Memorial at WTC

This place was powerful.
Two fountains were built on the exact locations of where the old World Trade Center was located at. So when I got to walk towards the big fountain, I was really able to feel the sorrow and the pains of those who passed away. Just seeing the water fall from a square within a square down to the little hole felt dramatic and lonely for me. On top of that, along the fountain, there were names of people who have died from the attack and I got to witness some of the people who were related or who knew those who died.
This place got me to look at life in a whole new perspective.

Food Friday: Momofuku (NY Version)

Hello Readers!

Today's food that I would like to introduce is ICE CREAM and other desserts!
This place called Momofuku, or the Milk Bar is known for their amazing cookies, soft serve cereal milk (which is cereal flavored ice cream), and so on.
Their soft serve cereal milk was delicious in a way that it wasn't too sweet but it wasn't too milky. I just don't know how to explain it correctly, but it was beyond my expectations.

I also enjoyed their hot chocolate, and I guess especially because the time that I went to go visit, NY was pretty chilly, and me and my friends were in NEED of some warmth!
Try and drop by if you're near!

That Easter Sunday

I feel like I've been posting too much about my New York trip, so I wanted to change some things up. Of course updating in chronological order is important to me, but I just really got a bit tired of New York right now. So, I would like to share what I did during the Easter Sunday.

Joy, my boyfriend's little sister, came down from Norcal (Northern California) to visit some colleges. So we just went to multiple services visiting different people the whole day. Let me tell you, it was fun to be with people and being in the services, but it was also really tiring. I don't think I can do more than two services a day...

Brooklyn Bound

Brooklyn is one of those places that are "super hip without even trying". (don't know if that made sense..)

Brooklyn Flea Market was one of the best flea markets that I have gone to.
First of all, it was indoors, in a great historic building.
Second, it had vendors all around in all three stories.
Third, it had awesome food vendors, and lastly, it had amazingly unique things all around that you just end up spending hours in there!

Brooklyn was truly a fun place to be in and I would love to go back!

Food Friday: Grimaldi's (NY Version)

Allow me to just start by saying... BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER TASTED!

People have always told me that 'New York is KNOWN for their pizzas and that I would HAVE to try it', but I didn't think that it would be THIS GOOD!
I am really not a BIG pizza person, but I came out thinking that it was the best pizza ever. So I would recommend this place, if you're ever in NY.

Prince Louis

My dog, Louis, likes to be pampered and feel loved by people.. HE is veryy NEEDY in a way.
He usually won't eat his food if there's no one home, and even worst, he would need you to sit with him while he eats.. I guess he is a lot like me in a way.

He loves people so much that even though my boyfriend plays around with Louis by wrapping him tightly in a blanket, he would just stay still and enjoy it. He even falls asleep like that.. So silly!

My life currently according to my Thunderbolt

The New Place to be in New York: The High Line

The High Line is a park that was built on a railroad track. The railroad is still managed and seen, but around the railroad, there are trees, benches, and amazing view for people to enjoy and chill.
If I were a local, I think I would spend a lot of my time their eating, reading, and chilling!
